The Tracking Trial was successful, including having nice weather for the event. We are grateful for the 21 great volunteers, many of whom gave up their whole weekend to help participants to earn their titles. A big thanks goes out to those volunteers. There were a lot of entries, including quite a few from Canada. There was a random draw from the 16 TD entries and 12 TDX entries. No alternates made it for the TD and there were 2 for the TDX. Two qualified for their TD and one for the TDX.

BVKA TD/TDX REPORT 2023
by Sarah Kahn, trial Secretary
Bell Vernon’s 5th Tracking Test was held Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Wesen Farms in Bow, WA. We offered 6 TD tracks and 3 TDX tracks this year and our test filled. 3 of the TD dogs passed, including a Junior Handler with her Wire Haired Dachshund. Unfortunately, none of the 3 TDX dogs passed this year. We had beautiful weather both days, clear and cold.
We had at least 9 club members volunteering at this event. Bonnie, Mike, Linda, and I laid tracks, Pat did hospitality, Ramon helped with pole carrying and cross tracks. Laurie and Teresa were drivers. Sil was an outstanding secretary and hosted the judges and drove them during the test. You are all very much appreciated.
The Collie Clubs moved their all breed Rally/Obedience trials to Monroe and on test weekend which was definitely a worker conflict. We are considering other dates and seeing what other clubs are offering at that time of year. We could do early January or into February.
Our judges were Kyla Smay and Kamrin MacKnight. They were busy in the fields and were patient with all of us.
TDs were earned by:
I Spy Speakeasy W - Wire-haired Dachshund owned by Sharon Sanderson & Sydney VanWagnen, Handled by Junior Handler, Sydney.
Kiji Kiss the Girl @ Northwind - Australian Shepherd owned by Laurie Thompson & Kim Schmidt, handled by Laurie.
Northwind’s Trekking the Himalayas - Australian Shepherd owned by Margaret Tunks (Peggy) and Laurie Thompson, handled by Peggy.
